A series of shiiurim based on classes given at Nishmat in July 2019 on "The Making and Breaking of a Kingdom." The first shiur(im) explore what the Torah tells us about a Jewish king, and how the meforshim understand these requirements. The remaining shiurim discuss why Yehudah merited to have his descendants be the kings of Israel, and then the the strengths and weaknesses, and the rise and fall, of Shaul HaMelech, Dovid HaMelech, and Shlomo haMelech. The last shiur in the series will discuss Yirmiyahu and the Last Kings of Israel.
