Join us as we continue our exploration of the development of the Oral Law during the Middle Ages. As we cover Jewish life during those troubled times, we will particularly emphasize the key contributions of our rabbinic leaders and the written works by which they are known. We will be going century by century and country by country, covering both Western and Central Europe and also North Africa and the Middle East. We will integrate our study of the Rishonim within the framework of the economic, social, and political issues of the times. We will thus gain a true perspective of the milieu in which the Rishonim both lived and worked, and during which time they were able to produce their monumental works of Torah scholarship. This class is for women only.
